On Thursday April 22nd at 6PM at Labyrinth Books in Princeton, author John McPhee will read from his new book “Silk Parachute”. The brief, brilliant essay “Silk Parachute,” which first appeared in The New Yorker, has become John McPhee’s most anthologized piece of writing. John McPhee is a staff writer for The New Yorker and author of twenty-eight books.

Tompkins’ new book, How to Wreck a Nice Beach, is the story of how a military device became the robot voice of hip-hop and pop music. Dave Tompkins, a former columnist for The Wire, writes frequently about hip-hop and popular culture. His work has appeared in Vibe, The Village Boice, Wax Poettics, and The Believer. The Princeton University Program in Creative Writing host readings by Robert Stone and C.K. Williams
